Unemployed...again!

So I lost my job on Wednesday. Big crapping bollocks there. The one good thing is I actually hated the job. But who, in their right minds, wants to be unemployed right now?

Anyway, silver lining and all that, I am looking at the good in this. I have nothing to tie me down here. I did say that I wanted this to be MY year. Maybe its time for me to do something for me, because I want to, not because I have to.

As I said to my darling SS2 the other day, I am sick and tired of existing rather than living. So...time to live me thinks!

Another year

So Christmas and New Year have come and gone again and its back to work tomorrow morning.
I hate New Year actually, makes me think of all the things I COULD and probably SHOULD have done in the year before. But this year is going to me MY year. I am going to make sure of it!

Hugo is back home for three weeks in about 16 days. Can't wait to see him. Its been weird without him this Christmas, not the first time he hasn't been here, but the first time he has been in a war zone for Christmas.

Alex's Rugby

So it was my darling Alex's memorial rugby match this weekend. 5 years since he died. Lots of alochol consumed on Saturday night. Lots of tears cried today.

Highly emotional, but very funny. It was so nice to see everyone, even though some people can't actually make the effort anymore. It suckd, but I suppose people have to move on sometime, and they have their own lives now, but its one weekend out of the whole year.

One bit of advice though...don't try to make a hotwater bottle at 2 in the morning after 9 vodkas...boiling water on your hand may not hurt when you're drunk, but it hurts like a b**ch the next morning!

So the pigeon that my father, so nobley, rescued recently has passed on to a better place. *sigh* poor dad. He was getting into teaching it how to fly, running around the garden throwing it in the air and flapping his arms.

Oh well.

It's Been a While

Ok, I have been really bad recently...BUT I have been away for pretty much the whole month. I spent the first two weeks in South Africa with my sister, was amazing to see her so happy. Even though I don't think her and her boyfriend are going to last, it is still nice to see her with someone who doesn't take her for granted.

I then went on a long weekend down to Wales with little sister, mum and dad. It was relaxing, stunning and a really nice break (even though I had just been in South Africa for two weeks!)

I then had to go on a First Aid course. I thought it was going to be SO dull, but I had such a good time, I really lucked out with the group I had, they were all hilarious and we all got on like a house on fire. They thought I was a bit didgy though when we were talking about burns and I mentioned carpet burn, rope burn and candle wax burns. One guy looked at me and said "we don't need to know about your private life, thanks Verity" from then on they thought I was some sex mad pervert! Funny funny!

Have only been back at work for two days which is why I have been quiet! Have got a busy couple of weeks though...good busy!

Cape Town

Cape Town is beuatiful...ok so its rainingg at the moment, I literally chose the wrong WEEK to come, not just the wrong month! But I am here with my sister so all is good.

Have seen Baboons, Whales, Dolphins, Dassies (rabbits with no ears!), Ostrich! Has been awesome.

Am going up to Joburg on Tuesday, to see my little Alexis...I haven't seen her for 3 years and I am SOOO excited! Pity I have to take a two hour flight to see her...

Went to Cape of Good Hope the other day, it is where, most people claim, the two oceans (Atlantic and Indian) meet and is the most southernly point of South Africa...NOT TRUE! Cape Agulhas is...but it is a still a stunning piece of landscape and where the Flying Dutchman sank...

Going out to dinner tonight so better go get changed...

BB's out!

So BB has literally just walked out of the office, claiming that he wont be back until after lunch!!! AWESOME...so I immediately get on the internet and start working on the Church Fic for Aly...just sent it over to you Aly, I told you I would send it over first thing!

This time nect week I will be sitting in Dubai airport, waiting for my connecting flight to SOUTH AFRICA! squeeeee! Am so excited I can hardly sit still, although 1 in a million sister Soph says that its raining...gayness!

Oh well, rain or shine, its gotta be better than sitting bored out of my mind in my office...right?

Even writing doesn't help right now cos I have hit a temporay road block...mind you I have just uploaded something so I can't really complain.

BB is out, so is everyone else so I am *sings* all by myself! in the office and causing havoc, singing, dancing, talkingto myself...there is NO ONE here, who else can I talk to! Think I have had too much coca cola today so am a little bit hyper...

Time for A Change...

It is time for a change...a change in my job mainly. I spend my entire time wishing my life away. Ok a bit extreme, but you kinda get the idea! I look at the clock and wish it to say 5 o'clock.

Anyway, enough of whining! Its gorgeous weather here, which puts everyone in a good mood (including BB!), am counting down the days till I get to South Africa to see my older sister, I have missed her so much. I never realised how much I was going to miss her until she left. She is my best friend, my mentor. But she had a life she had to live and she did it. Guess I should take a leaf out of her book and go DO something, right Ellie?

I still need to finish my List...its a list of everything I want to and need to do. Someone very wise told me to write it, and I can't thank her enough for pushing me to do it! SS2!

Guess I had better do some work, BB isn't in so I am trying to motivate myself...let me tell you, when you find your job as DULL as I do, it is HARD!

So, it's pissing down with rain here. I walked to work in one pair of shoes, felt like I was walking in puddles the entire time. Second pair of shoes (because I keep 5 under my desk) went on at lunch time and my feet are soaking AGAIN!
I have decided that my dad is the best in the world, he has been bidding on a laptop for me on eBay this morning and won it, even though I could have done it because BB (Bastard Boss as named by Aly) is in a meeting all day so am totally free. So I will get that in a couple of days, excited!!
Speaking of Aly, am preoccupied with her birthday present that is proving harder than I thought, hopefully should have some of it up tomorrow, although if not, DO NOT bring out the pitchfork Aly, ok?
Gotta go stare at a blank page again...

Maiden Voyage

So, right now I am meant to be audio typing for my boss but I figure that as long as he hears me typing, what he doesn't know can't hurt him (or me), right?
So my weekend was spent, going back to my old school for a Commemoration Service, getting drunk with all my old teachers then crying at my friends grave. Emotional, but I did look like a twat! However, sometimes there is nothing you can do BUT look like a twat.
Aly, you have no need to "bribe" me, anyway, you totally didn't, there was no bribing going on, just "sooo...me and Jonah were thinking..." That doesn't constitute a bribe my friend!
Soooo, anyway, probably should go and do some work (currently emailing a friend and bitching about her ex boyfriend, one of my favourite past times)!
